Cake Smashes may just be my favourite session to photograph. Why? Because I can let all of my creativeness out when designing the set and every other detail that goes into making these sessions unique to every child. Mom suggested the idea of using the book, “Guess how much I love you” as inspiration. I loved the soft pastel tones and the fact that it perfectly fit into this time of year being so close to Easter. Below are some images from this fun session!
For this session I decided to bust out the paintbrushes and get really creative. I hand painted this backdrop using pages from the book as my inspiration. I love how it turned out…
Of course the cake had to match and my girl Natasha at MMM Sugar always does a fabulous job! Find her at Facebook.com/mmmsugar
I always start the session with a few clean photos. Aiden was looking so cute in that adorable hat and I love the way he looks sitting on the vintage fruit crate.
Now on to the fun part! With a quick change he was ready to get smashing!! You never really know how the child will feel about a cake all to themselves but this little guy was LOVIN IT! 🙂
I love capturing little details. Those toes won’t be so little forever!
He was so proud when he pulled that bunny out of the cake. Well done Birthday boy!!
